Commercial Air Conditioning Installation in East Ham, London, London for St Bonaventures Boys School
Air Conditioning installation — Boleyn Road, East Ham, London, London
Our Client’s Problem
The school’s music room suffered from poor temperature control, leading to an uncomfortable environment for both students and staff. During warmer months, the room would overheat due to occupancy levels and heat generated by instruments and equipment. This not only affected concentration and performance quality but also posed a risk to sensitive musical instruments that require stable temperature and humidity conditions. Additionally, existing ventilation was inadequate, resulting in stale air and reduced air quality.
What We Did
The project began with a site survey to assess room dimensions, insulation, and electrical capacity. A suitable Fujitsu system was selected to match the cooling load requirements. Installation areas were marked to ensure optimal airflow and minimal disruption to acoustics. Electrical isolation procedures were followed before any work commenced to eliminate risk of electric shock. Mounting brackets were securely fixed, ensuring structural integrity and compliance with building regulations. Refrigerant pipework and drainage systems were installed carefully to prevent leaks and condensation issues. Engineers used appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and eye protection, throughout the process. The indoor unit was positioned to distribute air evenly without creating noise interference, critical in a music environment. Outdoor units were installed in a well-ventilated area with safe clearance. System pressure testing and vacuuming were conducted to ensure there were no leaks and that the system operated efficiently. Electrical connections were double-checked for safety and compliance. Finally, the system was commissioned, and performance tests were carried out. Staff were given guidance on safe operation and maintenance, ensuring long-term reliability and user safety.
